Tampa, Fla., January 19, 2007 – Numara® Software, Inc., (formerly Blue Ocean Software) today announced its support of the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” project in Davis Islands, Florida that launched earlier this month. With a financial donation and time spent onsite to support the project, Numara Software demonstrates its commitment to its community and its customer, WCI Communities, Inc., the contractor for the Tampa project and one of America's preeminent builder of award-winning neighborhoods and communities in Florida, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Virginia. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as Best Reality Program and is in its fourth season on ABC, offers a complete home makeover for deserving families.
Numara Software joins companies including Whirlpool, Verizon and the Tampa International Airport to help rebuild a local Davis Islands home which was destroyed in a fatal plane crash in the summer of 2006. The Tate family, known in the local community for their family-owned business, Tate Brothers' Pizza, found themselves unable to rebuild their home after the tragic accident that left a pilot dead and their house destroyed. The project, which took place from January 7 to January 14, rallied members of the community to lend their time, talent and resources to build the Tate family a new home. The "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" episode featuring the Tate Family is scheduled to air March 4th on ABC.
"We are always eager to recognize our local community and the Extreme Home Makeover project provided us with an excellent opportunity to help a deserving family," said David Weiss, president and CEO, Numara Software. "Our employees were so enthusiastic about this project and the opportunity to work in tandem with one of our valued customers to give back to our community."
In addition to the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" project, Numara Software regularly sponsors philanthropic activities including a Riverwalk 5K Run for Special Olympics, a parking space raffle and holiday gift donation for the Children's Home and a diaper drive for the Alpha House of Tampa. Numara Software also donates computer software equipment to Computer Mentors to train economically-deprived youths to be technical ambassadors.
